VERMICELLI KHEER

Welcome to my cookbook Cookerypoint - Ila's Kitchen. Hi guys hope all are fine and it was long break for me. I had vacation and couldnt post for sometime. I couldnt check out your space guys and I ll check it out after my vacation.Now came with yummy and delicious Vermicelli Kheer. It is also called as Semiya Payasam which belongs to South Indian Cuisine.It is very delicate and tempting recipe made with vermicelli. Here cardomom powder or whole cardomom can be used. Lets go to our recipe.....




Ingredients:

Vermicelli(or) Semiya - 1/2 cup
Milk - 6 cups
Sugar - 5 tbspn
Cardomom powder - 1/2 tspn
Raisin - little
Cashew nuts - little
Pistachio - little
Almonds - little
Ghee - 3 tbspn

Preparation:

Roast vermicelli with little ghee until it become golden brown.
Heat ghee in a wide pan and add cashewnuts,almonds and pistachio.
Now,add raisin and fry till it puff up like balloons.
Its time to add milk and let it boil and add cardomom powder.
Add sugar to the milk and stir it frequently.
When milk boils well add roasted vermicelli.
Let it cook until vermicelli is soft and tender to eat.
Remove from heat when vermicelli is cooked.
Now Vermicelli Kheer is ready to serve.


Note:

Vermicelli will absorbs milk while cooking . So add enough milk while cooking or add warm milk while serving payasam.

Serving Suggestion:

This South Indian Recipe can be served as dessert after lunch or dinner.
