Beetroot Halwa - Indian Sweet

Welcome to my cookbook cookerypoint. Now, my recipe is mouthwatering Beetroot Halwa. This Sweet belongs to South Indian Cuisine. The main ingredients are beetroot and sugar. This South Indian Recipe is very simple and easy to make during rushup hours to invite guests. This is my mom's recipe which she makes for my every birthday and which is my favourite too. Lets go to our halwa...:)


Beetroot Halwa-cookerypoint-South Indian Recipe
BEETROOT HALWA

Ingredients:

Beetroot - 4 cups(Grated)
Sugar - 2 1/2 cup
Ghee - 4 tbspn
Cashewnuts - 2 tbspn
Raisins - 1 tspn
Almonds - 1 tbspn
Oil as required

Preparation:

Grate the beetroots with large holes of the grater.So that beetroot have their shape even after cooking.
Heat ghee in cooker and add grated beetroot and sugar.
Mix it well and cook it for 4 -5 whistles.
Stir the beetroot well and cook it in medium if the halwa looks semi liquid.
In the meantime,check the sugar and add according to your taste.
Fry the cashews, raisins and almonds in ghee or oil.
After halwa reached its consistency, add the fried nuts to it.
Now, delicious beetroot halwa is ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion:

The Beetroot Halwa can be served as sweet in lunch or this South Indian Recipe can be served as evening snacks.
