ALOO BONDA

Welcome to my cookbook Cookerypoint - Ila's Kitchen. It has been long to meet u guys and here is my post for today. A wonderful starter which craves the stomach to get fill in... Yuppy Aloo Bonda is my today recipe which belongs to North Indian Cuisine and hope you all will like it. It is served as Starters in almost all the Indian restaurants. The main ingredient is Potato and Gram flour. Lets go to our recipe....





Ingredients:

Potato - 2 no
Gram flour - 1 cup
Onion - 1 no (Finely Chopped)
Green Chilli - 2 no
Cashew nuts - 10 no
Cumin seeds - little
Mustard - little
Ginger - 1/2 inch (Finely Chopped)
Curry leaves - 2 sprig
Turmeric powder - 1 tspn
Baking powder - 1/2 tspn
Chilli powder - 1 tspn
Oil - 1 tspn
Salt as required
Water as required

Preparation:

Aloo Stuffing:

Boil the patatoes with salt and smash in to medium chunks.
Heat the oil in the pan and add mustard and cumin seeds.
After it splutters, add cashew nuts,greenchilli,curryleaves and ginger.
Now add onion and fry till transulent and add turmeric powder.
Its time to add boiled smashed potatoes with salt and mix well.
Add little water if required to bring the consistency.
Let the mixture be cool and make in to small round dumplings.

Aloo Bonda:

Take the bowl with gramflour,baking powder,chillipowder and salt.
Add water and make in to semi batter consistency.(As desired)
Now dip the aloo dumpling in the batter and fry in the hot oil.
Let it fry all around till it becomes reddish brown.
Now, Aloo Bonda is ready to serve.



Serving Suggestion:

This yummy Aloo Bonda can be served with Coconut and Tomato Chutney as starters.
