SOOJI VEGGIE PULIHORA

Welcome to my cookbook Cookerypoint - Ila's Kitchen. I planned to make upma but did little twist and made sooji pulihora. This recipe is from South Indian Cuisine. The main ingredient is Semolina and your own combination of vegetables can be used . This recipe goes to Satya's  Twist The Traditional Pulihora Event. Lets go to the recipe :)



SOOJI VEGGIE PULIHORA
Ingredients:


Sooji/Rava/Semolina - 1 cup
Carrot - 1/4 cup (Grated finely)
Chickpeas  1/4 cup (Boiled)
Water - 2 cups
Lemon - 1/2 (Squeeze in to juice)
Salt as required
Coriander leaves - 1 tbspn

For Tadka:

Mustard - 1/4 tspn
Cumin - 1/4 tspn
Urad dal - 1/2 tbspn
Channa dal - 1/2 tbspn
Peanuts - 2 tbspn
Red Chilli - 2 no
Ginger - 1/2 inch (Grated)
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tspn
Hing - pinch
Curry leaves - 1 tbspn

Preparation:

Fry sooji with ghee or oil till little brown.
Heat oil in a pan,add tadka as mustard,cumin,hing and redchilli.
Now add peanuts,channa dal and urad dal and give a little fry.
Add ginger,curryleaves and turmeric powder and fry well.
Its time to add grated carrot and chickpeas and mix well.
Now add water with salt and let it boil in medium low flame.
Add sooji when water boils and stir it continously.
Cook it for 5 minutes and mix well without any lumps.
Now add lemonjuice and coriander leaves and mix well.
Let it cool and sooji pulihora is ready to serve.

SOOJI PULIHORA
Serving Suggestion:

This Sooji Veggie pulihora can be served for breakfast or dinner with flavored yogurt.
